Skin Soothing Bath Salts

3/4 cup sea salt

3/4 cup baking soda

3/4 cup coarsely to finely powdered oatmeal

1/2 cup elder flower

1/2 cup chamomile flower

Pour all ingredients into a clean, dry bowl and stir to combine. Store in a labeled glass in a cool, dry place. Use 1 or 2 handfuls of the blend per bath. Place in a muslin bag and hang over the faucet while the water is running.

Honey and Wine Face Mask

1 tsp raw honey

1 1/2 tsp red wine

1/2 tsp ground chia seed

Combine the honey and wine in a small bowl. Stir in the ground chia seeds and mix well to combine. Adjust the consistency by adding a bit more honey or chia seeds if needed.

Spread a thin layer on the skin, avoiding the eyes, and leave in place for at least 15 minutes.

Rinse face with warm water. Gently pat skin lightly with a towel to dry.

Follow with moisturizer.

Yogurt and Honey Hair Mask

1/2 cup (4 fl oz) yogurt

1/2 cup (2 fl oz) raw honey

2 tbsp. Jojoba oil

Combine ingredients in a small bowl and stir thoroughly.

Apply to hair and cover with a shower cap.

Let this moisturizing mask penetrate hair for at least 20 minutes.

Rinse with warm water, then shampoo hair as usual.

Flower Facial Steam

1 gallon of water

2 tbsp lavender flower bud

2 tbsp chamomile flower

2 tbsp rose petals

Bring water to a boil in a large pot or tea kettle. Place a large, wide bowl on a table with a comfortable seat. Add herbs to bowl and then cover with the hot water. Lean face over the bowl at a comfortable distance so as not to burn your skin. Drape a towel over your head to form a tent over the bowl, capturing the steam.

Enjoy the steam 5-15 minutes.

3-4 Tbsp herb infused oil or oil of your choice

1 Tbsp shea butter

1 Tbsp beeswax

Combine ingredients in a glass bowl and slowly heat in a double boiler setup on your stove. Continue to heat until all ingredients are melted and mixed together. Allow to cool only slightly, and then carefully pour into lip tubes or containers. This recipe will make 12 chapstick-sized tubes of lip balm.
